Guilds selling gold trims
So a certain guild has been playing under different guilds to try to get gold and then sell it. I am wondering, what exactly do they get?
Real life money or ingame cash?
and if so how much are gold trim guilds worth?
Is this activity illegal according to Anet? Or is Anet giving it the blind eye and let high rank guilds profit off of this inorder for them to continue to play this game.
Do you guys think that more of the top guilds already with gold trims are going to do the same thing since its good profit?

a friend of a friend of my old guild traded 2 mini ghostlies a shitload of cash and a whole lot of other minis for one of the guild, i forgot which but they were gold trimmers. most goldies sell for real life money, and a-net really doesnt care enough about this.

At the end of the day you can't argue with hard cash. So if that means selling a virtual item/guild for $800 like farin which cost him practically nothing but time to get his hands on. Id do it in a heartbeat!

You can buy a gold trimmed guild, sell invites to it then sell the gold you make on ebay and try to make a profit. Obviously this is against the rules and whatever except no one ever follows up on them. And considering how little gold trims mean any more in pvp, $800 is a pretty easy sell.

Who really knows what is motivating people to play under different guild tags? If you really want to know, I would suggest asking them directly.
I don't know ANet's status on selling guilds for real money, but it would seem to be at odds with the EULA, as is selling gold gained from selling invites and such. These are things we do not endorse here at Guru, so I am closing this discussion.
